In order to achieve your athletic potential, follow the 80/10/10 rule:
80% Form: Most all running related injuries are due to improper form and the stress it puts on the body.
10% Shoe: It is important to be fitted properly. Problems could occur if running in an improperly fitted shoe. Only wear your shoes while running and purchase new shoes every 300-500 miles.
10% You: Everything you do throughout the day influences your running program. It is important to rest and allow recovery time in between runs. Listen to your body to prevent overtraining.
